Buckö History

After a few guitar lessons I began jamming with my best friend who became our singer, and other school friends, when we formed MOSS-ROCK, named after New Mossford School, which we all attended. We performed at local schools, but eventually wanted an image change, so with a new Drummer, WIDE OPEN was born.

During our five year career the highlight was a tour of Japan in 1980. My friend, Bill, and I continued to write music and perform together. I eventually joined TWINKLE, a singer from the 60s who had hits with TERRY and GOLDEN LIGHTS, and stayed with her throughout 1993 1994.
Following a break of two years or so and after the sad death of my song writing partner BILLY WALSH I decided it was time to record an album in tribute to him.

I joined FRONT PAGE NEWS who had agreed to be the vehicle for this project, but after two years we still had not played any of the tracks live, nor had we recorded them. This was due to internal differences. We did however perform at Disability Pride Week in memory of Billy.

Together with the Drummer and Bass player from FPN formed AMPUT8 ( Amputate ). With the addition of FATMAN on Vocals, KAZ on Backing Vocals, Don COLIN FRANK on 2nd Lead Guitar and DINGLY DEREK on Keyboards, we began regularly gigging in South ESSEX. Unfortunately the same differences cropped up when it came to the Billy album so we decided to take a break to possibly join back together in a few years.

I decided that I would complete this project as a solo effort and just bring in the cavalry when I needed them.

I am currently playing with TWICE REMOVED. A Rhythmn’n’ Blues Band playing a unique blend of Rocking R’N’B. FATMAN and I formed this band with two members of another band that he had once sung with.
